We are very excited to announce that Emmi’s Carbon Diagnostics universe and total-portfolio analysis data now incorporates reported emissions for public equities and public fixed income. For many, the reliance of estimated emissions for bottoms-up planning or analysis was insufficient. We listened, and now provide a blended set of results across our universe. Where available, reported emissions are used, and estimates are used to fill the gaps.

This blend of reported numbers and world class accuracy in calculated emissions results in data with unmatched accuracy and coverage.

At Emmi, we go the extra mile: our expertise in climate data and reporting means we don’t just take reported numbers at face value. While integrating reported numbers into our data pipeline, we didn’t want some heavy emitters to get a free pass on transition risk-analysis because they only report a small fraction of their Scope 3 emissions. So to combat this, we have created quality control checks for every scope 3 reported number within sectors with the heaviest emitters. If a reported Scope 3 number fails our check, we replace the reported number with an estimate generated from custom models for this purpose.
