Fully cloud-based infrastructure and data-pipeline automation

June 15, published October 1

In the lead up to our partnership with FactSet, Emmi has been focused on introducing a lot of upgrades to our data pipelines that would ensure a smooth, native integration with FactSet, a trustworthy data set, and smooth automated processes to ensure it could be refreshed frequently. Many of these upgrades will represent a “first version” of capabilities that we expect to improve over time.

The first update required is to migrate all data pipeline stages into AWS cloud infrastructure.

From today, all Emmi universe data is ingested, processed, and stored in AWS Cloud infrastructure environments now. Among other things, this has allowed us to employ Airflow for automating previously manual steps in our processes.

This change is particularly significant for our Machine Learning pipeline, which trains tens of thousands of models each time it runs, then selects the best performing models, promoting them into a meta-model that is used by our algorithms for generating emissions data. This entire process is now on the cloud, and automated.
